Tide Ocean SA is a Swiss supplier of recycled plastic with offices in Basel, Lengnau, Ranong and Hong Kong. Originally linked to the Swiss watch industry through its mother company, Braloba Group, #tide was founded when Thomas Schori investigated the possibility of using recycled polyester yarn for watch straps. He discovered that this had never been attempted before.
A truly innovative entrepreneur, Thomas Schori set out to do what had never been done before: Make watch straps from recycled ocean-bound plastic. Together with the Swiss University of Applied Sciences, he began researching the damage caused by ocean plastic and its transformation into a premium recycled material for safe and durable goods.

We keep plastic out of the oceans …
As a supplier of recycled plastic, #tide works closely with local communities to close the cycle of plastic waste pollution. We organize beach clean-ups and pay fair wages to waste pickers and fishermen who collect plastic. In this way, we not only secure a steady source of recycled ocean-bound plastic, but also help to build a resilient waste management infrastructure with a high level of community involvement. This is the first and most important step on the long road to solving our world's plastic pollution.
