At #tide, we're dedicated to transforming ocean-bound plastic waste into valuable resources, fostering both environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
Our recent collaboration with G.F. Garden exemplifies this commitment, culminating in the innovative FOR OCEAN collection—a testament to the power of upcycling and sustainable design.
Turning Ocean-Bound Plastic into Garden Solutions
G.F. Garden, an Italian leader in thermoplastic molding since 1966, has partnered with us to create the FOR OCEAN collection. This exclusive line features products crafted with between 50% and 80% ocean-bound recycled plastic content, addressing the critical issue of plastic pollution in our waterways.
By integrating recycled ocean-bound polypropylene into their designs, G.F. Garden not only diverts plastic waste from the environment but also offers durable, eco-friendly solutions for gardening enthusiasts.
The Journey from Waste to Worth
The transformation process begins with the collection of plastic waste from coastlines, islands, beaches, and rivers—areas identified as high-risk zones for ocean pollution.
In collaboration with local communities and fishermen in Southeast Asia, we ensure that this waste is gathered responsibly, supporting local economies.
The collected plastic is then meticulously sorted and processed using a mechanical recycling method developed in partnership with the Swiss University of Applied Sciences. This approach regenerates the plastic into high-quality recycled plastic granules, which serve as the raw material for the FOR OCEAN collection.

Innovative Products for a Sustainable Future
The FOR OCEAN collection includes thoughtfully designed products that cater to modern gardening needs:
Aquabag: A compact hose reel available in 11.5m and 16.5m versions, perfect for small spaces like balconies and terraces.
Aquapop: An expandable hose kit that contracts after use, ensuring easy storage and minimal space usage.
Aquaflora Holiday: A drip irrigation system designed for potted plants, delivering water directly to the roots—ideal for maintaining plant health during vacations.
Each product embodies the principles of the circular economy, demonstrating how recycled ocean-bound plastics can be repurposed into functional, aesthetically pleasing items.
For G.F. Garden, who already used conventional post consumer and post industrial recyclates in earlier GF RECO collections, increasing their impact through implementation of #tide material was a logical next step: One of GF's goals for the future is to use as many sustainable raw materials as possible: recycled plastic for products and mainly paper for packaging.
Following the launch of the GF RECO range of watering products made from at least 70% recycled plastic, the FOR OCEAN project aims to present the GF Unconventional range in a unique, eco-friendly way.
This collaboration underscores the potential of partnerships in driving environmental and social impact. By choosing products made from recycled ocean-bound plastics, consumers play a pivotal role in reducing marine pollution and supporting sustainable practices.
A Ripple Effect of Positive Change
Together, we can create a ripple effect that leads to cleaner oceans and a healthier planet.
At #tide, we believe that every piece of recycled ocean-bound polypropylene brings us one step closer to a sustainable future. The FOR OCEAN collection with G.F. Garden is more than just a product line—it's a movement toward responsible consumption and environmental stewardship.
The new FOR OCEAN collection is available online and in the best DIY stores in Italy and Europe from spring 2025.
